Bringing Gemini to physical robots

Develops the Gemini Robotics models. On 30 July 2026 it released Gemini Robotics ER 2, strong in spatial reasoning and multi-robot coordination and available to all developers via the Gemini API and Google AI Studio. The same day it announced Gemini Robotics 2, its main VLA model, for early-access partners; On-Device 2 is also limited to early-access partners. In October 2026 Google reported that the general-purpose Gemini 4 Argon scored 87% on the ERQA robotics benchmark. In January 2026 it partnered with Boston Dynamics to power the next-generation Atlas.

ImageVLA model based on on-device Gemma for general-purpose manipulation across multiple robot types, offered to early-access partners. Google says it can adapt to a new dual-arm robot with a few hours of data and fewer than 200 demonstrations.
Announced at CES in January 2026; Atlas is slated to arrive at Hyundai's Georgia plant during 2026, with tasks such as parts sequencing planned by 2028.
When Gemini Robotics launched in March 2025, Agile Robots, Agility Robotics, Boston Dynamics and Enchanted Tools were named among trusted testers.
